There are 23 gold medals up for grabs on the second day of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, with plenty of chances for athletes from Team Wales.
We take a look at the events to keep a close eye on for Saturday, July 30:
Athletics, Marathon, 7am
Dewi Griffiths is back in action for the Commonwealth Games eight years after finishing 25th in the 10,000m at Glasgow 2014. The Swansea Harrier is second on the all-time Welsh list and won the Birmingham Half Marathon on the same streets earlier this year.
Cwmbran's Natasha Cockram was frustrated to miss last year's Olympics but won the Los Angeles Marathon and holds the women’s national record. She will be joined in the team by Clara Evans.
Swimming, 100m butterfly, 10.30am
Alys Thomas struck gold four years ago when she scorched to glory in the 200m butterfly in Australia, setting a new Games record in the process.
Thomas will hope to compete in the 100m butterfly final on Saturday, having finished seventh in the event in 2018 when Australia swept the medals. Thomas is competing at her fourth Games and while this is not her main event, it will be an interesting pointer.
Gymnastics, Women's Team, 4.30pm
Wales just missed out on a women's team medal four years ago on the Gold Coast, but this is a totally new-look team, and they will face tough opposition from England, Australia and Canada.
Jea Maracha and Poppy Stickler are rising stars of the sport, having both cracked the podium in the junior section of last year's British Championships. "This was my goal for the year, all the hard work and dedication have thankfully paid off," said Maracha.
Weightlifting, Women's 55kg, 8pm
Bangor weightlifter Catrin Jones will be cheered on by a big squad from home, with no-one yelling louder than her coach and dad.
She said: "It's the best competition I've ever done, and my family and friends don't normally get to see me. My dad and I have a great relationship; he knows me as an athlete and daughter. I've been training for this moment for eight years and to win a medal would be amazing."
Hockey, 9am and 7pm
Wales take on Canada in the men's hockey competition at 9am while the women play powerhouses India at 7pm.
Rugby sevens
The rugby sevens continues at Coventry with the men taking on the code’s specialists and 2016 Olympic champions Fiji, who won bronze in Tokyo last year, beating Team GB in the final.
