Anyone watching Bridgend Schools District U11s versus Islwyn District at the Principality Stadium on Wednesday need only have looked to the Wales international turned coach on the sidelines to know there would be some star quality on display. That proved to be the case, with Rhys Webb's son Regan putting in a strong performance, as did his team-mates and opponents.
Honours were shared in the U11s DC Thomas Plate final between Bridgend and Islwyn on day five of Road to Principality at the home of Welsh rugby, and the Plate was shared. Aiding Bridgend Schools to a leveller, Regan - one of Webb's three children - was key with an offload to set up a try on the way to a 15-15 draw.
Ospreys scrum-half Webb, who has been coaching the players this season, later said on Instagram: "Super proud of this one and his team mates today . A super nervous 11-year-old who represented Bridgend Schools District, playing in the best stadium in the world @principalitysta. Well done buddy awesome work".

As for the team, Webb added: "The boys have been awesome. It’s been a pleasure to coach them."
Webb won 33 caps for Wales and twice starred for the Lions as they drew with New Zealand under Warren Gatland in 2017.
The Road to Principality made a return for the first time in two years and is a highlight of the community rugby calendar, with more than 2,500 players getting the experience to play at the home of Welsh rugby. More than 60 schools, colleges, clubs and diverse teams from across Wales have been participating in the 10-day long festival.
