Housebuilder Wain Homes has broken ground on the first development for its new West Midlands region.
Construction has officially started at the Shropshire Heights development on Eccleshall Road in Loggerheads, Staffordshire, which will boast 128 new two, three, four and five-bed homes.
They are the first properties to be built by Wain Homes in the West Midlands following the company's launch in the region in January 2021.
Wain Homes West Midlands' managing director, Andy Peters, said: "This marks a landmark day for Wain Homes in the West Midlands when we can begin activity on our first development and it is the result of the fantastic work of our growing team that has got us to this stage.
"It has been an exciting journey to start a brand new region and Shropshire Heights is just the first step in us reaching our target of delivering around 400 new homes per year in the region by 2027.
"Thankfully, we have the 50-year heritage and history of the Wain name behind us and the support of the whole Wain Group has been pivotal in us reaching this milestone."
Will Ainscough, Wain Homes' executive chairman, said: "The West Midlands is the final piece of the jigsaw which sees Wain Homes active in all western regions of England from the North West, through the Seven Valley and down to the South West.
"Breaking ground on our first development in this region is just the starting point and I know all of our new team has worked incredibly hard to get us to this point. The team here will play a very important part in the group's growth plans over the coming years and they already have some exciting new developments in the pipeline."
Wain expects to open a show home at Shropshire Heights towards the end of summer with the first people moving in by the end of the year.
