Coleen Rooney will tell her side of the 'Wagatha Christie' libel trial story in a new documentary being made by Disney+. The news was revealed at the Edinburgh TV Festival by Sean Doyle, Disney+ director of unscripted content.
He said the channel will have “exclusive access” to Rooney, who is the wife of former England football captain Wayne Rooney. Earlier this month fellow footballer’s wife Rebekah Vardy, 40, lost a libel battle known as “Wagatha Christie” against Rooney over a viral social media post.
The Mirror reports that Disney wrote in an announcement on the project: "The three-part series will take viewers from the circumstances that led to her infamous Instagram post that ‘broke the Internet’ all the way to Coleen being a successful defendant in one of the UK’s highest-profile High Court defamation cases brought against her by Rebekah Vardy.
