As communities look to bounce back from record flooding in Western Australia's north, the recovery effort has revealed that hundreds of Aboriginal people were not registered at birth.

The fallout from ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie led to WA's worst-ever flood event in January, with the towns and communities in the West and Central Kimberley suffering widespread damage.
