Voters In Battleground States Doubt Biden's 2024 Election Chances

Voters in Ohio decide whether to enshrine abortion protections into the state constitution

Recent interviews conducted in four battleground states reveal a growing sentiment among voters that President Joe Biden may not be the best candidate to defeat former President Trump in the 2024 election. The interviews, totaling 80, were held at various events in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, with over half of Biden supporters from the 2020 election expressing doubts about his ability to secure victory.

During these interviews, it was found that more than half of the voters believed Biden should withdraw from the race following his lackluster debate performance against Trump. A significant portion, approximately a quarter of those interviewed, were in favor of Biden staying in the race, while the rest remained undecided.

One voter, Gerry Ford, a 72-year-old engineer from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, expressed his opinion that Biden should exit the race promptly, citing a lack of transparency from the Biden campaign since the debate. Ford emphasized the importance of politicians being forthright with voters and expressed his disappointment in the current situation.

Another voter, Greg Holmes from Michigan, attended a campaign event featuring first lady Jill Biden and held a sign urging Biden to 'Step Aside.' Holmes stated that if Biden were to make a courageous decision to pass the baton to another candidate, he would be enthusiastic and supportive of the new nominee, as he views Trump as a significant threat to democracy.

Eighteen-year-old Emma Due shared her perspective, mentioning that while she was not particularly excited about voting for Biden, she would likely do so simply because he is not Trump. Due expressed a preference for Vice President Kamala Harris to take over, highlighting the need for new ideas and perspectives in political leadership.

Overall, these interviews shed light on the shifting opinions among voters in key battleground states regarding President Biden's candidacy for the upcoming election. The sentiments expressed by these individuals reflect a mix of disappointment, uncertainty, and a desire for change within the political landscape.
