Voters' attitudes to refugees revealed in fresh polling

Australians want refugees and asylum seekers to be treated with compassion, as the major parties are warned against taking their eyes off the cost of living at the upcoming federal election.

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre commissioned polling which was conducted by Redbridge, and found immigration and asylum seeker policy are not the priority for the election, due by May 17.
