The Denver Broncos shocked the NFL world on Sunday when they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 24-9, snapping a 16-game losing streak to their division rival that dated back to 2016.
After that upset win, former Bronco and current Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus took to Twitter/X to congratulate safety Justin Simmons, who essentially sealed Sunday’s win with an interception in the fourth quarter.
Simmons, Denver’s longest-tenured Bronco, played with McManus from 2016-2022. Simmons also played with former Denver pass rusher Von Miller from 2016-2021.
Miller, who now plays for the Buffalo Bills, re-posted a Broncos highlight video on his Instagram story on Sunday night with the caption “Congrats” and an orange heart emoji.

Miller dominated the Chiefs from 2011-2015, posting a 8-2 record against Kansas City in his first five seasons in Denver. The Broncos then failed to beat the Chiefs in the next five and a half years before Miller was traded.
Denver has now finally snapped the losing streak, and Miller and McManus are happy to see it happen even as they play for other teams.
Miller has made it clear that he’ll always be a Bronco, and he still uses “we” when discussing the team. Perhaps we’ll see Miller return to Denver sometime down the road before he hangs up his cleats.
