Hospital radio volunteers from Paisley's RAH are celebrating after picking up awards.
Volunteers at The Hospital Broadcasting Service (HBS) - which provides daily shows to the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) - are thrilled to have done well at the annual UK-wide competition for the best hospital radio stations.
The radio station rounded off its winning streak - making it the most successful award-winning hospital radio station in the UK this year - with another top placing for a special documentary, called HBS@50, about the launch of the radio service on Christmas Day 1970.
Hannah Gilchrist, who volunteers at the RAH, won top prize in the hotly contested Best Newcomer category for her weekly morning show and the judges said: "Hannah’s a really warm and friendly presenter with a lovely, relaxed pace.
"She delivers great content, with a perfect mixture of topics. A really good listen."

Hannah is extremely happy to have won the award, adding: “Wow! I can't believe it. I am absolutely buzzing. What an honour to win such a contested award.”
Graeme Ferguson also had success with his Friday evening rock show which picked up a prize in the Specialist Music category.
He said: “It's really encouraging to get such positive feedback from a panel of judges drawn from both healthcare and broadcasting professionals.”
To celebrate the awards success HBS will be repeating their winning ‘HBS@50’ programme this Sunday, September 4 at 6pm.
The documentary looks at how the station first went on air back in 1970 and became the area's first local radio station, years before Radio Clyde started broadcasting.
HBS Chairman Niall Anderson from Paisley said: “We are all really pleased that the judges have recognised the hard work all our volunteers put in to make the radio station something special for the hospital patients who are our core audience.”
HBS is also on the lookout for any former volunteers from the last 50 years as there is a celebration event on Thursday, October 13 to which they are all invited.
If you want to find out more, send an email to studio@hbs.org.uk. They are also looking for new volunteers to join the team, further information and the programme can be heard online via the station’s website at www.hbs.org.uk
