Dear Vix,
Every year, on Mother’s Day, my heart sinks. It’s the worst day of the year, bar none. And it’s getting increasingly difficult. Not because I don’t have my mum – I do and I’m thankful, for she’s a constant source of love and support – but because I’ve had five miscarriages over recent years and I’ve finally decided I can’t go through the pain, trauma and grief anymore. I’ve resigned myself to never having children of my own, but I’m struggling to make peace with it.
