Vogue Williams tells Late Late Show viewers her 'own values' made her turn down invite to Qatar World Cup

Vogue Williams has opened up about her new children's book and how she turned down an invitation to this year's World Cup in Qatar.

The Howth native joined host Ryan Tubridy on the show to chat about her new children's book 'Jump For The Stars' as well as her busy family life with her three kids and husband Spencer Matthews. Next year, Vogue and Joanne Nally are taking their hit show 'My Therapist Ghosted Me' on the road with live gigs in Dublin's 3Arena on November 29 and 30 and December 1.

Vogue was welcomed onto Friday's Late Late Show by fellow Dubliner Ryan Tubridy, who was delighted to see her. She was last on the show in 2019 with husband Spencer when they played a fun guessing game of 'Mr & Mrs'.

On Friday night's show, Vogue chatted about her youngest son Otto's christening and teased her good pal Joanne McNally for not showing up to the church. Speaking on The Late Late Show, Vogue said: "We were having lovely Otto’s christening – she only held him about three months ago, he’s nearly eight months old."

However, after an unfortunate mix-up Joanne and a few other guests went to the wrong church on the day. Vogue explained: "They went to two other churches, then they ended up on the King’s Road and they had to get a taxi back. 20 minutes late for the christening and the priest was like really not happy.”

Vogue also opened up her exciting new book 'Jump For The Stars' which was inspired by her own children four-year-old Theodore, Gigi, 2, and Otto, eight months. When asked about this year's World Cup in Qatar, the mum-of-three revealed that she turned down an invitation to do influencing work in the country.

She told Tubridy: "I actually received an invite to Qatar, I turned it down because of my own values. I don't like politics or football."

Recently the Dublin star also slammed David Beckham on her podcast over him becoming an ambassador for the World Cup in Qatar. She said on the podcast: "They invited me over to the World Cup and to do all this influencing stuff and [I was like] I'll take my sister, my lesbian sister. How would you feel about that? There's no way I would go over there. Not the way it is. Very disappointed.”

Vogue's book 'Jump For The Stars' is available book stores across Ireland.
