Russia is attempting to lure prisoners to fight in Ukraine with the promise of almost £3,000 in cash with their sentences being cancelled if they come back alive, it has been claimed.
In-mates are being actively recruited by Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg jails to take part in his illegal war.
The convicts are told they will be put on the frontline to hunt down “Nazis” in Ukraine in an arrangement that suggests the criminals will be deployed as cannon fodder.
