A Russian MP has stated that newly mobilised troops will be given a mere two weeks to train before being sent to the frontline to fight for their country.
This comes following a rare address to the Russian nation today in which Vladimir Putin announced the partial mobilisation of his country’s military - and called up reservists to fight in his war against Ukraine.
Vowing to protect what the tyrant considers his territory, he said that Russia would use all the means at its disposal to do so.
The despot said that the “mobilisation events” of his troops would begin Wednesday, without providing further details.
This would mean that Russian businesses and citizens will now have to contribute more to the war effort.
Vladimir Putin said: “I reiterate, we are talking about partial mobilisation, that is, only citizens who are currently in the reserve will be subject to conscription, and above all, those who served in the armed forces have a certain military specialty and relevant experience.
"Conscripts will obligatorily go through additional military training based on the experience of the special military operation before departing to the units."
Speaking after him, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said an initial 300,000 reservists would be called up.
But only those with relevant combat and service experience will be mobilised, he added.
And now, it has been revealed that the newly mobilised troops will only be given two weeks of training before being shipped off to the battlefield.
Gennady Zyuganov, a Member of the State Duma and former General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, gave the shocking announcement this afternoon.
In an address, he called for the newly "mobilised youths" to be sent on the short training course.
Horrifically, he said that: "That should be enough."
In another shocking clause in the decree, most professional soldiers are prevented from terminating their contracts and leaving service until the partial mobilisation is no longer in place.
British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said that the Russian president's mobilisation announcement is, “an admission that his invasion is failing.”
“He and his defence minister have sent tens of thousands of their own citizens to their deaths, ill-equipped and badly led,” Wallace said in a statement.
“No amount of threats and propaganda can hide the fact that Ukraine is winning this war, the international community are united and Russia is becoming a global pariah.”
