Vizag gears up for India-Australia T20 cricket match

VISAKHAPATNAM: The co-chairman of the organizing committee for the India-Australia T20 first match and district collector Dr A Mallikharjuna said that they are making all arrangements including the safety and security of not only players but also the spectators. Additional buses would run from various destinations to the cricket stadium on the match day.

The day and night match will be held on November 23 in Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy ACA-VDCA stadium.

This time, the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is planning to arrange a big screen to watch the cricket match for almost 10,000 spectators at a place with the permission of the district administration. The collector said that three cricket matches were held in the stadium in the last year.

After the first coordination committee meeting in ACA-VDCA cricket stadium here on Tuesday, the collector along with city police commissioner Dr. A Ravi Sankar, EPDCL CMD Tej Bharat Immadi, and ACA secretary SR Gopinath Reddy told media persons that the dates of sale of online and offline tickets would be announced soon.

The City Police Commissioner and Additional Director General (ADG) Ravisankar said that they have been planning for security and also vehicular movement, besides parking. The organizing committee is arranging nine parking places for more than 2000 cars including 80 VVIPs and 1000 VIPs, besides more than 6000 two-wheelers.
