NEW DELHI: In a sensational debut performance, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Vivrant Sharma has etched his name in the history books as he became the highest Indian scorer in his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) innings, breaking a 15-year-old record set by Swapnil Asnodkar of Rajasthan Royals (RR) way back in 2008 in the inaugural edition of the cash-rich league.
Vivrant, who played a fine knock of 69 runs, surpassed Asnodkar's score of 60 while playing against mighty Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
