“I knew it was going to be tough. I wasn’t in a hurry to do anything. I wanted to connect some stuff. I wanted to start feeling what he was bringing to the table. Then I noticed that I started to connect in some strikes, and then at one point I knew he was resisting. But at one point, I was like, ‘It’s time to finish this off.'”

“There’s a great deal of emotion to (not only) actually be here, but to have the first submission in my career, and the biggest promotion in the world on a pay-per-view numbered card. It’s just really good.

“(I want to fight again) as soon as possible. Of course, whenever (the UFC) comes calling, you rest and make some adjustments. But it will be great to actually fight in Brazil. It would be a great achievement and actually a dream come true if that’s what they want.”
