Pancake Day is round the corner, which presents the perfect excuse to go out and order the fluffy fried treat.
One of the best things about Shrove Tuesday is undisputedly getting seconds (and thirds) so if you think you can manage more than a plateful, then one venue in the Northern Quarter is the place to be. Shack, which is based on High Street, is serving up bottomless pancakes on the big day, as well as the following Wednesday and Thursday.
Head chef Austin Fletcher estimates that he'll be flipping upwards of 4,000 pancakes across the days the offer is in place. He told the Manchester Evening News: "Last year we had to get extra chefs in and it's already filling up quickly.

"We always sell a lot of them on Saturdays and Sundays, probably around 200 to 300 over the weekend, so it made sense to do it again this year."
However, he won't be taking a break to eat any himself. "I might have one," he laughed. "But I don't eat a lot on shift. Off shift, it's a different story and I could probably get through about four or five."
The four varieties that customers can choose from during the promotion are:
- OG pancakes - layered with buttermilk fried chicken, smoked streaky bacon and maple syrup
- Biscoff and berries - topped with chocolate sauce, blueberry compte, Biscoff crumb, cream and fresh berries
- Peach cobbler stack - topped with Schnapps flambéed caramelised peaches, finished with cream, crumble mix and granola
- Chocolate and caramel rolo stack - topped with crush Rolos, chocolate sauce, Southern Comfort salted caramel sauce and crushed Cadbury's Flake.
They all sound amazing and earlier this month, I visited Shack to see if they passed the taste test as well.
Starting with the OG, as the most savoury selection on the list, I was immediately making a mess. In an attempt to get a bit of everything on my fork, there was bits of fried chicken flying everywhere as I cut my way through the ultra crispy bacon.
I love crispy bacon anyway but when paired with the light and fluffy pancakes and the succulent chicken, it was even more of a delight. The maple syrup also gave that sweetness that you want with pancakes, acting as a perfect contrast to the more savoury toppings.
The chocolate and caramel Rolo stack is perfect for chocoholics with a really sweet tooth. Drizzles of chocolate and caramel sauce cascade down the pile of pancakes, while the Rolos are semi-melted due to them being on top of the warm stack. Super indulgent but so worth it.
I'm not the biggest fan of peaches so was really unsure about the peach cobbler stack but this ended up being a standout. The caramalised peaches melted away in my mouth, while the different textures from the fruit, the cream, the pancakes and the crunchy granola was really satisfying.
Biscoff and Berries sounds like an unusual combo but I was blown away by the presentation, with mixed berries and edible flowers on beds of cream, surrounding the Biscoff topped pancakes. Flavour-wise, it was probably my least favourite but still a winner.
Although I had them all brought out to me at once, when the bottomless pancakes are actually served up next month, it is strictly one plate per person at any one time. Once you finish your plate, you can order the next, and you can mix and match toppings as you go for the duration of the 90 minutes.
It costs £12.50 per person for bottomless pancakes, and an extra £15 each if you wish to add bottomless drinks. The offer runs from Pancake Day (Tuesday February 21) to Thursday February 23. To book, visit the Shack website.
