Lightning flashes across the sky in a video resembling a horror movie during a severe storm which brought tornadoes, floods and hail and cost a woman her life.
The vision of hell was captured by a resident peering from the safety of their home as the weather raged overhead.
The brief clip resembled scenes from terrifying horror movies as the home is seen surrounded by thick trees, while a siren warning of tornadoes screams in the background.
To make matters even scarier lightning continuously flashes as the thunder rumbles.
Fittingly, the terrifying video was shot by a man named Andrew Krueger.
He wrote on Twitter : “Took brief look outside - constant lightning, heavy rain and tornado sirens going off in West St. Paul.
“I can hear hail hitting the roof but I’m not going out to see how big it is!”
He later reported: “Still lots of rain and lightning but the warnings have expired here in West St. Paul.
“Thankfully the trees all stayed upright & power remains on.”
One person replied: “Straight out of a horror movie. Hope you're safe!”
The severe storm was responsible for at least one death as a 30-year-old woman died in a car crash caused by downed electrical lines.
The vehicle had stopped to avoid the obstacle when it was hit by a lorry travelling the same direction. Four other people were injured in the incident, one of them severely.
More than 21,000 people were without power in the southern Minnesota town amid warnings of more to come.
Xcel Energy said in a statement: “Hundreds of employees and contractors are in the field restoring power today and that number will increase to 700 this afternoon as additional storms move through this evening.”
Several spotters reported tornadoes as the worst of the storm hit, although all were believed to be around the EF zero rating with winds of around 80mph.
Earlier this month a terrifying tornado was caught on video tearing through a town, levelling homes and buildings in seconds.
The twister touched down near Wichita, Kansas, in the US, before moving towards the city of Andover.
A storm chaser caught the moment it tore through the town of around 15,000 people on video, showing the destruction it delivers in moments as homes are swept into its vortex.
Based on the damage survey completed by the National Weather Service, it is believed to have been an EF-3 rated tornado- the third highest rating.
Its winds are thought to have reached 165mph.
Incredibly, despite the severe damage dealt to the town no one was killed.
One shocked viewer replied: “This is hands down the most terrifying video of a tornado I've seen in my life.
The peak season for tornadoes in the US is between May and July.
