Virtual speed dating event for Belfast singletons to take place this weekend

A virtual speed dating event for Belfast singletons is set to take place this weekend.

It starts at 8pm this Saturday, March 18, and is for singles aged 37-53 who live in in the city or surrounding areas.

To attend, you can download and register a profile on Katch, redeem the coupon code received after booking the event and prepare to introduce yourself to many singles on the day of the event.

At 8pm, the event host will greet everyone and provide instructions on how everything works. Attendees will be matched throughout the event into having two-minute private face-to-face video calls with the ability to extend it if they want to talk for longer.

If they 'like' each other during a call - then that person will be added to their dashboard, giving the opportunity to message them once the event is over.

Organisers said: "We want this Belfast event to become a regular on every Saturday so all singletons could mingle together and experience the Katch speed dating."

Katch have events currently being hosted in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast each week and there are events for specific age groups, interests, and even cultural backgrounds.

Organisers added: "In a world where time is of the essence, finding love can be a daunting task. But what if we told you that there is a way to meet your perfect match in just a matter of minutes? That's right, video speed dating has become the ultimate shortcut to finding love and happiness.

"Video speed dating is a fun and efficient way to meet new people, where participants have the opportunity to go on several mini-dates in one event from their phone. Although the concept has been present for some time, it has gained widespread popularity lately as mobile video chats have significantly alleviated anxiety among singletons.

"According to a recent survey, 80% of people who try video speed dating find at least one potential match..."

Paul Numan, CEO at Katch.ie said: “One of the most significant advantages of speed dating is that it is a low-pressure environment. Participants do not have to worry about the awkwardness of a first date or the pressure of impressing someone

"Instead, they can relax and enjoy the experience, knowing that they have nothing to lose.”

People can book the event and find more information on how everything works HERE. It can also be booked from inside the Katch app.
