Google Inc, which was founded in 1998, has completed 25 years and shared a video on 'X' that shows people and moments most searched on the search engine in the last two and a half decades. And among the cricketers, it was none other than Virat Kohli.
Kohli, who first arrived on the international scene to lead India's U-19 World Cup team to a title win in 2008, has since rewritten record books, with the most reent instance being when he eclipised Sachin Tendulkar's mark of 49 centuries in 50-over internationals to become the first batter to reach 50 tons in the ODI format.
Besides having led India in the past, after taking over the reigns from MS Dhoni, Kohli is an icon for the IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore, a team he has been playing for 16 years now. He stepped down from captaincy a couple of year back, after which Rohit Sharma was named the skipper.
At the recently-concluded ODI World Cup, Kohli finished as the tournament's leading run-scorer with 765 runs to his name in 11 matches. It is also the most ever by a batter in a single edition of the tournament.
Kohli has so far featured in 111 Tests, 292 ODIs and 115 T20Is for India and has gone on to score 8676, 13848 and 4008 runs respectively, including 80 international centuries across the three formats.
