A viral TikTok video showing how to fix an incorrectly-fitted car mat could save you thousands.
Experts at Chill.ie are warning drivers of this easily-committed error that if the worst were to happen, could result in a costly repair bill.
One user posted a video of his accelerator pedal getting stuck under his car mat.

The user, who has garnered 186,000 likes on the now-viral video, showed how the gas pedal got stuck before he managed to eventually bring the vehicle to a halt.
Neil Curry of Chill.ie said: "Having full control of your vehicle is of utmost importance, particularly to decrease your chances of having an accident behind the wheel. Anything that could interfere with your foot pedals must be avoided or rectified immediately."
He explained that the incident could possibly lead to huge potential damage to other road users, the driver or the car itself.
"Alongside the obvious dangers, this could also have financial consequences as insurance premiums could rise and you may have to pay for any damage," the expert added.
One way to avoid this error is to accurately measure your car floors so as not obstruct or get stuck on any pedals, Mr Curry revealed.
Chill.ie recommends testing out the accuracy of your measurements by drawing and cutting out the shape on paper to ensure that it fits snugly along with the mat
Another vital tip is to attach the mat securely to ensure it is both lower and will not slip.
"Some vehicles have built-in hooks or fasteners you can connect to the mat, velcro strips and double-sided carpet tape can also be used to increase stability.
"Get it checked - Head over to your local garage and ask for a professional to check your car mat or help you choose the correct one," Mr Curry added.
