Things took an unfortunate turn for a couple's gender reveal party in San Pedro, Mexico on Sept. 3 when a plane hired to do a flyover lost its wing and crashed.
Video posted on social media shows the couple standing outdoors in front of a glitzy lit-up sign that reads "Oh Baby" wreathed in pink and blue balloons.
As the plane approaches from behind them, dispersing a blast of pink smoke to announce to attendees that the baby would be a girl, something goes horribly wrong.

As the plane passes over the couple and their guests, the left wing appears to separate from the craft as it awkwardly turns midair and flies into the distance. The camera pans back to the couple, who were embracing despite the horrified screams of their guests.

Some social media users were quick to judge the couple for hugging after the plane's wing had detached as it flew overhead, with others jumping in and arguing back and forth about whether they were aware of what had happened.

The way the camera panned back to the couple with not the slightest care in the world for the pilot is sad.
