The cookie boom that turned weekly flavors and social media posts into a major food trend is showing signs of slowing down. Chip City Cookies has quietly closed all three of its Connecticut stores, with the locations removed from the company website and marked permanently closed on Google.
The move comes as several cookie chains scale back locations, while shoppers become more careful about spending on viral food trends, as per several reports by The Street, CT Insider and Northern Virginia.
