A violent abuser stabbed his girlfriend 29 times in a frenzied attack then locked her in the house to die.
Steven Wood, 54, who is originally from Liverpool, viciously assaulted Martina Turner, 53, on May 21 last year inside the kitchen of their home, in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.
He then locked her in the house and left her to die, police said.
