Vinted seller leaves customers in stitches by using famous face to sell clothes

Second hand clothes are a massive market, particularly with younger generations who are looking to lessen their impact on the planet. Sites like Vinted, Depop and eBay help users to sell their unwanted clothes, shoes and other items to those looking to refresh their wardrobes.

Trying to make your items stand out in a sea of other sellers can be difficult but one seller found a hilarious way of attracting attention for their garments all thanks to a surprising "business partner".

Vinted user Harryinmystyles cleverly used a cardboard cut out of singer Harry Styles to model the clothes on - much to Twitter users' entertainment.

Harryinmystyles, who's real name is unknown, wrote in their Vinted description: "Just me and my business partner, Harry. Clearing out my wardrobe and making some cash."

They then list around 15 items, all modelled with Harry from skirts to blazers all between £8 and £90 - only the Chelsea boots are free from the cut out of the As It Was singer.

In real life Harry Styles is known for his bold fashion choices, often utilising LGBTQ+ style trends and androgynous looks to set himself apart from other artists.

"Product received and everything is all good here. Say thanks to Harry for me too," wrote one happy customer to which the London based shop responded: "I will, he said you're welcome babes."

The hilarious marketing technique was screenshot and shared on Twitter with the caption: "Oh my god this Vinted account" and quickly racked up thousands of likes and retweets.

One person replied: "The username on the account" with a gif of the real Harry Styles blowing kisses on stage. A second quote tweeted saying: "I absolutely love this".

The name was definitely the winning factor for this marketing strategy as someone put: "This is genius????? Harry in my styles??????" and another said: "Harry in my styles I can't."

Others said it was "brilliant", "genius marketing" with many replying that they would "have to try this" on their own accounts.

Even food delivery service Deliveroo got in on the joke, replying: "Harry Styles cut-outs with food items to boost sales." with a meme of football manager Jose Mourinho writing notes.

However, it wasn't all laughs as one user quote tweeted with a warning, they said: "I did the same during Covid but Vinted blocked my account."

The main man himself, Harry Styles, has not yet commented on the Vinted account but his modelling counterpart remains active on the second hand website.
