Originally scheduled to face Yanis Ghemmouri, Oliveira faced Sopaj after Ghemmouri withdrew due to injury. The lead-up to the fight was intense, with both fighters engaging in verbal exchanges during the weigh-in and at the UFC Performance Institute.
