Vinesh will be welcomed like a gold medallist, says her uncle Mahavir Phogat

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected Vinesh Phogat's appeal to be awarded a silver medal in the women's 50kg event at the Paris Olympics after getting disaqualified for being overweight ahead of her gold-medal bout. However, the Indian wrestler's uncle, Mahavir Phogat, has expressed his unwavering support for his niece despite the unfavorable decision.

In a statement released on Wednesday, CAS confirmed, "The application field by Vinesh Phogat on August 7 has been dismissed." This verdict effectively closes the door on any further legal recourse for Vinesh in her pursuit of an Olympic medal.
