Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has already told Leeds United and Daniel Farke exactly what Charlie Taylor would bring to the club if he were to return this summer. The left-back, who cam through the academy set-up at Elland Road, made over 100 appearances for his boyhood club before joining the Clarets in the summer of 2017.
Taylor was a mainstay for Sean Dyche during his time at Turf Moor, making the left-back slot his own. The 29-year-old is approaching 200 appearances for Burnley, but has been linked with a return to Leeds this summer as they look to replace Junior Firpo who is set for a departure.
However, Taylor had been converted to a centre-back role under Belgian boss Kompany, with his versatility praised by his head coach. Burnley would romp to the Championship title with the former Whites defender making 41 appearances in all competitions.
Taylor would start just a handful of those games in his natural position at left-back, which could bring Leeds some much needed tactical nous if they do pursue a move for him this summer.

Speaking after Burnley's Carabao Cup win over Crawley Town, Kompany highlighted how effected Taylor had been in the heart of defence. "I could have started Charlie at left back and he still would have been in the same position on the ball," he told LancsLive, making reference to how high defensive partner Connor Roberts played.
"I am just happy he got the game time.We want to utilise the squad and we put a lot of time and effort into the players the fans don't see every day and I am happy they get to go and carry the torch for us.
"We depend on another set of players and they showed they are making progress which was good. There wasn't much difference in how we played because we changed players, we played the same way."
