Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma has claimed that he has “been informed” of interest in him from Liverpool.
The Reds have been credited with an interest in Danjuma ever since last summer, with the Netherlands international impressing in Spain. He moved to Villarreal from Bournemouth last year in a deal worth £21m.
Danjuma has since scored 16 goals in 34 appearances in his debut season with Villarreal, and helped the club reach the Champions League semi-final. He was in their team that faced Liverpool in the first leg at Anfield, but was injured for the return visit in Spain.

Speaking about his future, Danjuma has admitted that he is aware of apparent interest in him from Liverpool. The 25-year-old went on to admit he would “consider” leaving Villarreal if a big move becomes a possibility.
“I am always as honest as possible,” Danjuma is quoted telling Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport.
“I have never had contacts with clubs or anything like that during the season. I always know about the situation after the season.
“I don’t want to get involved during the season.
“But I was informed that Liverpool were following me closely.”
Danjuma added: “I will never lie and I think it’s a bad quality if you are not ambitious.
“And if a club came along that offers a higher sporting platform, I would always consider it.”
