Villagers have put up signs telling couples heading to a stately home for their big day they're "not welcome" - amid claims wedding guests are weeing in their gardens. Locals living near the 16th century estate of Oxnead Hall in Aylsham, Norfolk, have erected signs that read: "Brides and grooms not welcome in Oxnead".
Other hand-made signs include 'No more weddings we've had enough' and 'Exclusive? More than 100 weddings this year'. Nearby residents have also accused wedding guests of 'relieving themselves in gardens', 'wandering through yards' and keeping them up by playing music late at night.
Susi and Roger Crane, who own a 500-acre farm that surrounds the wedding venue, have erected three signs in their front garden, which is near the venue's car park. Roger said: “The weddings are really having a big impact on our residents’ lives, and that’s why we are up in arms about it."
