PATNA: Education department authorities have recommended action against a school principal in Bihar's Saharsa district after he was badly assaulted by local villagers for allegedly sexually harassing a school girl.
The principal identified as Anil Paswan was badly assaulted by the villagers at the upgraded high school, Rupali where he was posted, on Monday. A video which has gone viral on social media shows the villagers throwing the principal on the ground and badly assaulting him with fists and feet.
"We have taken the video seriously and recommended action against the principal," district programme officer Ziaul Hoda Khan told the TOI over phone on Thursday.
The villagers acted after a schoolgirl complained to her parents about the principal’s conduct after returning home from the school. Reports said the principal had been allegedly sexually harassing the schoolgirls.
