The Minnesota Vikings might be one of the teams interested in signing Jim Harbaugh as their next head coach, per journalist and Michigan sports commentator John U. Bacon.
Things have grown quiet surrounding Harbaugh’s decision to either return to the University of Michigan and continue coaching college football or take another crack at the NFL.
“[For what it’s worth], I’m hearing the NFL possibilities seem to be shrinking, not expanding, especially with probably the best fit, Las Vegas. Flip side, just heard, ‘Don’t count the Vikings out,’” Bacon wrote in a social media post relating to his ongoing “Harbaugh Watch.”
I did a piece before Mike Zimmer was fired as head coach on how Harbaugh and the team would be a match made in heaven.
He stepped right into the fire in his first year as the San Francisco 49ers coach back in 2011 and took a 6-10 team to a division title and the NFC Championship. A year later, the team was competing in the Super Bowl.
Harbaugh’s success at the professional level speaks for itself, and he could do wonders for a Vikings team with plenty of talent.
The right general manager and Harbaugh working in unison could be the kick in the pants the franchise has needed for years.
