Monday night’s loss to the Chicago Bears was a first of it’s kind this season. The Minnesota Vikings became the first team all year to lose a game while holding their opponents without a touchdown.
Teams this season when not scoring a TD were 0-28 entering tonight.

Coming into last night’s game, teams were 0-28 this season when failing to score a touchdown. The Vikings defense held up their end of the bargain, keeping the Bears offense out of the endzone and giving the Vikings offense a pair of timely turnovers.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the display also allowed the Bears to become the first time in the Super Bowl era to win a game on the road despite not scoring a touchdown, amassing 75+ penalty yards, and suffering multiple fumbles.

Josh Dobbs, Kevin O’Connell, and the Vikings offense simply failed to capitalize on the defense’s strong play and wasted a golden opportunity to sweep the division foe.
The poor offensive display could ultimately lead to the end of the Josh Dobbs era in Minnesota, as O’Connell was non-committal to Dobbs’ playing after the team’s upcoming bye week.
But, in a bit of good news, whomever the quarterback is for the Vikings’ next game, they should have wide receiver Justin Jefferson back in the fold after his stint on injured reserve due to an ankle injury.
