Best case scenario
Muse came into the league with a large learning curve as a tight end, but he has a really good athletic profile. Muse played in 10 games last season with all of his snaps coming on special teams. With a really good training camp, Muse could see a significant amount of snaps with the shift to 12 personnel.
Worst case scenario
Tight end is an extremely difficult position to translate. It requires you to be a wide receiver and an offensive tackle. Muse didn’t show a lot during last year’s training camp and he could easily be beaten out by Johnny Mundt, who has some guaranteed money, whereas Muse has none.
What to expect in 2023
Muse is going to have a really good opportunity to make the team with only four tight ends on the roster and the Vikings could realistically keep four of them with the shift to 12 personnel. Muse will likely have more time to make an impression because of that.
