Viewers all saying the same thing after Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi documentary in Ireland

Irish singer-songwriter, Niall Horan, spent three fun-filled days with fellow globally recognised musician, Lewis Capaldi for a new show.

In his Virgin Media documentary, Niall Horan's Homecoming: The Road to Mullingar with Lewis Capaldi, which aired on Sunday night on Virgin Media One, the pair took road trip in an episode filled with fun, laughter and chicken fillet rolls.

Horan took Lewis to his hometown Mullingar for the Fleadh Cheoil in August.

The trip was inspired by Horan’s desire to revisit and reconnect with all that he loves at home; to retrace the origins of the exciting life journey he’s on and experience the reality of Ireland today.

The One Direction star and the Scotsman have become good friends in recent years.

The singers became friends after Horan reached out to Capaldi on Instagram saying he was a fan of his work.

The documentary tells a story of friendship and talent while celebrating modern Irish culture through the lens of two global superstars who have an authentic connection to Ireland.

Niall met Lewis in Belfast Airport before they hit the road and they went to get some new guitars.

Niall then brought his pal to do some oyster farming before they headed to Dublin where the singer spoke about his love for growing up in Ireland.

They made a stop at the Guinness Storehouse to enjoy a few pints before busking on Dublin’s Grafton Street.

After a trip to Guinness, they headed to Windmill Lane Recording Studio where they recorded their own version of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2.

In an interview with JOE.ie, Lewis and Niall discussed the documentary.

Lewis joked: “It was a hellish experience, Niall and I haven't spoken since, this is the first time I’ve seen him, Ireland is not the place I thought it was.”

Niall said: “It was amazing, we just drove around, and had the best laugh of all time.”

The pair went to Mullingar where they performed Chasing Cars for fans in Clarke's pub and Niall spoke about his love for his hometown.

Viewers took to Twitter immediately after watching the documentary and shared their delight.

One fan said: “It was a brilliant show, loved the chemistry between them. Love Niall Horan and as a native of Westmeath it was great to see him back in Mullingar.”

A second said: “Omg what a gorgeous documentary!! Nice to see where he started to where he is now and getting insight to his family and friends! Love it!”

While another excited fan shared: “Lewis Capaldi and his Dermot Kennedy impression had me on the deck. #guinnesshomecoming
