Videos of fighting emerge on social media ahead of Celtic v Rangers

VIDEO footage has emerged on social media showing fighting ahead of Celtic v Rangers match.

The two Glasgow teams will play at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon for the Viaplay Cup Final at 3pm.

Videos posted on social media show a large disturbance erupting at the national stadium around 9am ahead of the final.

The footage shows a large number of people breaking out in a major brawl.

Two large groups of rival fans can be seen approaching each other on Somerville Drive.

Police officers can be viewed at the scene trying to control the crowd and separate the two groups.

Traffic cones were launched and several punches were thrown before a large group is seen running off.

Another clip seen by the Glasgow Times revealed a large police presence on Brownlie Street as a number of people were running down the road.

It's unknown if any injuries were sustained or any arrests made at this time.

Close to 25,000 fans of each team were set to descend upon Hampden for the match.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing following a disturbance involving a large group outside Hampden Park around 9am on Sunday, February 26, 2023.”
