Emergency services are at the scene of a blaze in Seaton Burn where multiple vehicles are alight.
Twenty firefighters in five appliances from across the North East arrived at the Front Street and Brenkley Way area of Seaton Burn this evening where flames were seen engulfing "a number of coaches".
This video was taken by Judith Hogg and shows angry flames tearing through the vehicles. Police are also at the scene.
A Tyne and Wear Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed five appliances attended, one of which was from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service.
She said: "I can confirm we attended a fire on Front Street, Seaton Burn involving a number of coaches which were on fire. Five fire engines and 20 crew were in attendance and two of our duty officers attended. One fire engine was from Northumbria and between the two of us we responded."
Northumbria Police has been contacted.
The cause of the fire is so far unknown.
