This was the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning (April 3) after several vehicles were deliberately set alight at Rolls Royce in Filton. Several other areas were targeted in South Gloucestershire with up to 20 vehicles set on fire in total.
Avon and Somerset police have said at about 3.45am vehicles were on fire in a car park at Rolls Royce on Sunday (April 3), with around 20 vehicles damaged as the fire spread. One eyewitness said he was awoken by loud bangs coming from the facility, which officers have confirmed was the sound of fuel tanks exploding. Being able to see the smoke and flames from his home, he added the fire looked to be under control by 5am.
The Rolls Royce site in Filton has 24-hour security monitored from the Security Lodge near the main entrance, according to the site map. The building itself backs onto Patchway Police Centre which first opened in 2020.
