The drafting of DT Perrion Winfrey may have added a new fan favorite to the Cleveland Browns. While all fans love talented performers, Browns fans are drawn to personality and storylines as well. It may be a Cleveland thing as scrappy players like Matthew Dellavadova, Jason Kipnis and Anderson Varejao have all found themselves as fan favorites for their style of play.
Winfrey started his Browns career with an unforgettable media session. Pacing around his place, barking at the phone and saying things like ‘all juice, no coffee needed’ made fans stand up and take notice.
Most important is what he does on the field. As a 3-technique defensive tackle, Winfrey needs to have a combination of speed and power to be successful at the NFL level. A new video shows some of his leg power while squatting:

Few will ever be able to outlift Nick Chubb. While his demeanor is the polar opposite of Winfrey’s, his strength is well documented.
In the end, a big personality and the ability to lift a lot of weight are only beneficial if the production on the field matches. For now, it is good to see the Oklahoma star putting in work shortly after being drafted. Once he gets to Berea, according to him, they’ll have to kick him out of the building.
