Video of 'violence in France' is scene from Fast and Furious 8

Several social media users are circulating a video showing cars falling from a tall building, purportedly pushed by rioters in France, which is currently seeing violent and fiery protests across Paris and other cities in the wake of the fatal police shooting of a teenage.

Rioting has spread across France following the fatal shooting by police of 17-year-old boy Nahel in the Paris suburb of Nanterre on Tuesday. 45,000 police have been deployed across France, with public transport stopped at night in a bid to stop the violence.

Thousands of people have been arrested.

Much of the violence has been caught on camera, but people have also been sharing fake news - known in France as Infox.

One video being shared shows cars being pushed off a multi-storey car 'by rioters'. The video is in fact a clip from Fast and Furious 8 - The Fate of the Furious.

The scene was filmed in Cleveland, Ohio.

The footage has been checked and found to be false by fact-checking site Newschecker.
