Elon Musk on Tuesday shared a dazzling 10-second AI-generated anime video created with xAI's Grok Imagine tool, sending the platform into a frenzy as millions watched a blonde magical girl dance and cast glowing spells amid swirling cherry blossoms in a sunlit forest. The post, which contained no text beyond the video itself, quickly amassed more than 11 million views, 27,000 likes and thousands of replies within hours, showcasing the rapid evolution of consumer-facing AI creativity.
Musk posted the clip at 10:15 a.m. GMT from his verified account, where it immediately drew comparisons to classic Japanese anime series such as "Sailor Moon" and "Cardcaptor Sakura." In the video, a wide-eyed anime heroine with flowing blonde hair, a large red bow, white-and-purple sailor-style uniform, white gloves and red shoes leaps and spins gracefully. Swirling pink energy ribbons trail her movements as cherry petals cascade around her under dramatic sunbeams piercing a purple-hued sky. The sequence builds to a climactic pose with arms raised triumphantly, bright pink light rays exploding outward in a burst of sparkles and magic.
