Viddal Riley confirms planned return date for latest professional outing

Viddal Riley is planning to return on the undercard of Hughie Fury's rescheduled clash with Michael Hunter on October 29.

The cruiserweight star relaunched a hugely successful boxing career after signing with promoter BOXXER. Riley has fought six times as a professional to date and recorded his latest victory in June with a first-round stoppage over Jone Volau at the SSE Arena, Wembley.

Riley shot to stardom on video streaming service YouTube, which saw him take up a coaching role with fellow content creator KSI for his two fights with Logan Paul in 2018 and 2019. However despite his former charge's return, Riley is excited to get back in the ring himself and plans to contact Ben Shalom to organise his latest outing.

"Thing are good for me I haven't got a fight date yet," Riley told Mirror Fighting . "I want to get out at the end of September or early October but if not I most definitely should be on the Hughie Fury v Michael Hunter card. I am going to call Ben Shalom myself and say 'Listen please' I want to be on that card.

"That is the one I want to be on it would be great. It is certainly a big card." Riley has already fought on the undercard of a huge event this year when he outpointed Willbeforce Shihepo on the pay-per-view card of Kell Brook's win over Amir Khan.

Prior to his recent revival stint on Sky Sports, Riley was viewed as one of the top prospects in the UK having fought across the globe including twice in the US. Restrictions and injuries appeared to stall his progress but since his signature for a UK promoter arrived, Riley has showcased his talents.

A number of options could emerge including a potential fight with YouTube star Jake Paul, if he elects to go for a number of high-profile fights before continuing on the British title route. Riley has admitted in the past he is open to taking on Paul before his cancelled meeting with Hasim Rahman Jr, and this could reoccur after his next planned outing in October.

"For Jake to be in there with an opponent that could be mine, there's only really two outcomes; win or lose," Riley in a video for his YouTube channel.. "There could be a draw, but I highly doubt it. That's only logical sense, I can't sit here and say 'you know what, he's still not on my level,' because that's a bit arrogant and doesn't make logical sense.

"I'm quite a logical person, so whether his name is Jake Paul and he has however million followers and started off as a fairy or a clown in the circus, once you fight someone who I could be in the ring with then I have to consider you as someone who could be a potential opponent."
