Melbourne Victory have sold one-cap Socceroos forward Nick D'Agostino to Norwegian club Viking for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old striker will link up with his new outfit ahead of the Norwegian domestic league season start in April.

Fellow Australian international Gianni Stensness is already on the books of Stavanger-based Viking.

The sale of D'Agostino represents a good piece of business for Victory after they picked him up as a free agent following his exit from Perth Glory.

"I've had an incredible time over the past two years," said D'Agostino, who scored 13 goals in 37 A-League Men games for the Victory.

"The club has given me an opportunity to further my career and I'm looking forward to heading to Europe and continuing my development as a footballer."

Elsewhere, Macarthur have released forward Anthony Carter to allow him to complete a move to the Portuguese second division.

Carter, who scored once in 10 A-League Men games for the Bulls, has previously played for Benfica's B side.

The Newcastle Jets also announced that they have parted ways with defender Jordan Elsey who they say has an offer of a "long-term contract elsewhere".
