Victoria Beckham has launched a plus-size clothing range for the first time - months after saying women want to be curvy. The singer turned fashion designer's 12-piece collection VB Body will be available in sizes 4 to 18.
Earlier this year, she described the desire to be very thin as an "old fashioned attitude", Birmingham Live reports. She said: "The curvier you are, the better my VB Body dresses look".
Announcing the new line on social media, Victoria said it was "meticulously designed" and "created to flatter the body". She said the designs would look "great on all different shapes and sizes."
A source close to the label told The Mail on Sunday: "Finally Victoria has caught up. It’s great and she is extremely proud of her new collection. There is a whole new customer out there to buy her products but let’s face it, it has taken her a while but at least she is changing things."
The items are available to purchase on Victoria's website. A fitted mini-dress is £490, a one-shoulder top at £350 and a cropped cardigan is £450.
Fans were surprised by Victoria last May when she said that being skinny was going out of fashion. She said at the time: "I think women today want to look healthy, and curvy. They want to have some boobs and a bum. It’s not about being a certain size. It’s about knowing who you are and being happy with who you are."
Victoria has been praised for using size 18 model Shareefa J in Instagram videos promoting the new range. Follower @charwilko said: "Hoorah!!! Finally VB models of all sizes, well done."
