Victoria Beckham and David Beckham are said to have been left "open-mouthed" over a recent interview by Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham.
During a piece for Variety recently, Brooklyn, 23, and Nicola, 27, publicly addressed rumours of a feud between her and his mother Victoria, 48, which have been circulating.
He said "everyone gets along," whilst his wife suggested the rumour had begun when she didn't wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria for their nuptials in April this year.
It's been claimed that the interview hasn't gone down well with his parents, with it said to go against their philosophy when it comes to unfavourable stories written about them.
A source told Heat: "The interview left David and Victoria open-mouthed. [...] They're seeing it as an attention-seeking stunt and they now need to figure out where to go from here."
They added that within the family's brand, the philosophy is "that you stay silent rather than acknowledge" as this is considered a way to make certain stories disappear.
The source said Brooklyn was raised on that approach, so Victoria and David, 47, imagine that Nicola "quashed any attempt from him to play it down" when asked about it.
The source mentioned the couple's wedding, saying that Victoria "couldn't help" but get involved with the planning and that she was "constantly overriding" their decisions.
They said the plan had "always" been that fashion label founder Victoria was working on the wedding dress with Nicola, but in the end she wore a Valentino gown instead.
Victoria "may have overstepped the line" with her input, the source said, with the outlet adding that the mother of the groom felt "humiliated" by the way things turned out.
Heat reports that Nicola said she didn't have time to fly to London to visit her future mother-in-law's atelier and it reportedly wasn't possible for Victoria's team to travel to New York.
Victoria however reportedly wants to clear the air, with the source saying that her and David have tried on "several occasions" to invite Brooklyn and Nicola to things.
The source said that Brooklyn - who is the eldest of Victoria and David's four children - responds by saying that him and Nicola are "busy," seemingly declining such invitations.

Discussing not wearing a wedding dress by Victoria, Nicola told Variety in their interview that the feud rumour started with that situation and then people "ran with it".
She said: "I was going to [wear a dress by her] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress."
Nicola added: "She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it." Following her comments, husband Brooklyn remarked: "Everyone gets along, which is good."
The Mirror approached reps for Victoria, David, Brooklyn and Nicola for comment.
