Victoria and David Beckham are said to have been left 'open-mouthed' following an interview by Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham.
The couple publicly addressed ongoing rumours of a feud between Victoria, aged 48, and Nicola, aged 27, the Mirror reports.
During the interview with Variety, Nicola said it began when she didn't wear a wedding dress designed by her now mother-in-law.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn, 23, noted that "everyone gets along," but it has been said the interview hasn't gone down well with his parents.
It is thought to go against their philosophy in regards to unfavourable stories being written about them.
A source told Heat: "The interview left David and Victoria open-mouthed. [...]
"They're seeing it as an attention-seeking stunt and they now need to figure out where to go from here."
The individual said the family's brand's view is "that you stay silent rather than acknowledge" to make some stories disappear.
They added that Brooklyn was raised on that approach so his parents think Nicola "quashed any attempt from him to play it down."
The source said that Victoria also "couldn't help" getting involved in wedding planning and was "constantly overriding" their decisions.
They said that the plan had "always" been that the fashion label founder would be working on the dress alongside Nicola.
However, the actress and hotel heiress ended up wearing a Valentino gown on her big day instead.
Victoria "may have overstepped the line" with her input, the source said. Heat noted that she felt "humiliated" by what happened.
It reports that Nicola didn't have time to fly to London to visit Victoria's atelier and the Spice Girl's team couldn't fly to New York.
Victoria has reportedly wanted to clear the air and tried on "several occasions" to invite the newlyweds to various events.
The source says that Brooklyn always responds by saying the pair are "busy" and generally declines such invitations.
Nicola told Variety in their interview that the feud rumour started with that situation and then people "ran with it".
She said: "I was going to [wear a dress by her] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress.
"She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it."
Following her comments, husband Brooklyn remarked: "Everyone gets along, which is good."
The Mirror approached reps for Victoria, David, Brooklyn and Nicola for comment.
