Getting flowers is one of those things that always brightens your day, they're a nice delivery that I think always make you feel special - especially when you know that they're the type of flowers that fashion icons are fond of.
I've always loved roses, perhaps I can attribute this like my love of home libraries to the sheer amount of times I watched Beauty and the Beast as a child, so when I discovered you could get same day delivery for the roses loved by Victoria Beckham I just knew I had to get my hands on them.
FLOWERBX's bouquets have been spotted time and time again on Victoria Beckham's Instagram story, the roses popping up time and time again. There are ten different colours of rose you can get with same day delivery in London or next day delivery across the country. The red are a classic that are perfect for romance, both the peach and ivory are beautiful but the ones that stood out to me most had to be the Pink Sweet Avalanche roses.
A knock came on my door and I was presented with a huge box, that is completely recyclable, which I immediately recognised to be my flowers.
Taking the box inside I pulled off the lid to find a gorgeous bouquet wrapped in paper. As I'd gotten a set with the Royal Windsor vase, I found they'd been neatly placed in the vase which was wrapped and the ends of the flowers were kept moist with wet compostable material.
Not only that but there was a Beauty Pie product included, this seems to be due to leftover stock from an International Mother's Day collaboration, it was definitely a pleasant surprise.
Anyone who has put flowers in a vase at home knows that you're supposed to remove any foliage that would touch the water to avoid contaminating the water. I thought it was quite useful that these come without thorns or leaves at that level which makes it much easier to handle at home.
There were easy to follow instructions to set up the roses at home which also came with a sachet of flower food, based on how vibrant the flowers look it's clear that this plant food is really effective. I followed the instructions, mixing the sachet with half a litre of lukewarm water in the clean vase and then I got to cutting the flowers to size.
This took a little while as the smallest bouquet consists of 20 flowers, but it was so easy. I plucked of the protective outer petals and cut the stems to size at a 45 degree angle. It took a little work to make sure they were all the right length but the end result was beautiful.
I completely understand the hype behind the brand now, I'm not sure that Victoria Beckham actually goes through the effort of trimming the flowers to length and assembling them in a vase herself but I can understand why this is a brand she's been proven to like time and time again. It's also quite nice knowing I can have something in my house that the Beckham's proudly display in their own.
FLOWERBX stands out to me as they work with local growers with each stem being cut-to-order, this means that there is less waste headed to landfill. Not only that but they have recyclable and compostable packaging that is delivered via an electric car which stands out to me.
