Victor Willis asks Donald Trump to stop playing Village People music at rallies in resurfaced clip

Victor Wills, lead singer of the Village People, once asked Donald Trump to stop playing his band’s music during his rallies.

In a resurfaced interview with BBC News World America, the “YMCA” singer said he liked that fans, no matter their political leanings, enjoyed the hit 1978 single and were still continuing to play it.

However, he stressed that neither he nor his group endorsed the US president. “We have even asked him to stop playing his music at his rallies.”

The singer, who was 75, died following a short illness on Monday (29 June).
