Victor Wembanyama posting up this 5-foot-8 guard ended exactly the way you thought it would

The prospect of guarding Victor Wembanyama is already a difficult one for even the stoutest of professional basketball players.

The dude is 7-foot-4 with an 8-foot wingspan. He can handle the ball like a guard and shoot the ball like Kevin Durant. And don’t let him within just a few feet of the rim because he’ll probably just – literally — reach over you and stuff the ball in the hoop.

I’m honestly not sure what you’re supposed to do with that. And that goes for players who are 7-feet tall and up. He sounds nearly impossible to guard.

Now imagine trying to accomplish that at 5-foot-8.

Nanterre point guard Justin Bibbins actually lived it  — at least for a split second, anyway. Then he immediately fouled Wembanayma because, well, what else is he supposed to do?

The Mets 92 big man was in the process of posting Bibbins up when the point guard decided to just give him a big hug, which is obviously a foul.

Look at how quickly Bibbins wraps up. He was having NONE of it. And can you blame him? Wembanyama has a foot and some change on dude.

What makes this the absolute best, though, is Bibbins’ reaction afterward. He hopped on Twitter to explain what was happening here and the explanation was pretty simple.

“No way I was guarding this post up.” Fair enough, dude. Can’t say we blame you.

What can I say, man. That’s just smart basketball. Shoutout to Bibbins for realizing what was about to happen to him. I’m glad he didn’t have to go through that.
