Victor Osimhen's agent reveals striker's plans for future amid Manchester United speculation

Victor Osimhen’s agent has insisted his client has no problems at Napoli amid rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United.

Osimhen recently brushed off speculation that he was being monitored by United, as well as Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham. The 23-year-old described the rumours as 'background noise' in a post on his Instagram account a fortnight ago.

However, reports in Italy have suggested that the striker’s relationship with Napoli is becoming strained. Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Osimhen returned from international duty with Nigeria later than expected, causing issues in the dressing room.

His agent, though, has rebuffed suggestions of a falling out between Osimhen and Napoli. Speaking to Radio Marte, Roberto Calenda insisted all parties were happy with Osimhen's position at the club.

“There are no problems. Victor has already proved his close bond with this club,” Calenda said (via Football Italia ). “I don’t want to waste time talking about this, the situation is ridiculous. Just move on and talk about football.

“Osimhen is a young striker and with the right tips, his development is natural. Luciano Spalletti improves the players he works with. Everyone is happy about how things are going, Napoli are a precise choice for the striker’s development, as a man and as a footballer.”

Osimhen has scored 15 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions this season and is looking to help Napoli to the Serie A title. His form has led to rumours of a move during the summer, having also been linked with Newcastle during the January window.

“Osimhen is focused on the pitch, he wants to win and he is showing the right commitment. He plays for a strong team and journalists need to fill the papers' pages,” Calenda added.

“Even somebody who knows nothing about football would name Osimhen among the top strikers. He is a Napoli player and he will face seven finals now. The focus is all on the current campaign.”
